Tip Top Kite Day brings all the excitement, colour and spectacle of hundreds of kites dancing, ducking, and diving around the skies over New Brighton Beach.

Along with the thousands of families and individuals enjoying the friendly atmosphere of this wonderful Christchurch event, the fabulous team from the KiteShop will be there with a colourful assortment of kites in all shapes and sizes.

Bring a kite and join in the fun, or simply come and watch what's up in the sky.

Festival Events

: Sunday Bandstand; The Garden City is lucky enough to boast some of the finest brass and pipe bands in the land. While most of the Sunday Bandstand performances showcase the talents and flair of individual bands, if you get to the contest at English Park on 24 Feb you'll experience a stunning array of pipe bands from all over the South Island!

Teddy Bears Picnic; Enjoy non-stop on-stage entertainment, as acts, singers, and visuals keep the energy at full pace with laughs, magic, and aerials. Add this to the rides, horses and other attractions on the day and there's definitely something for teddy bear owners of all ages to enjoy.
